Your first broadcast: a checklist
A calm, prepared first show makes the next ones much easier.
Light
Face a window or put a soft lamp behind your camera. Avoid a bright window behind you: it turns you into a silhouette.
Sound
Choose a quiet room and test your microphone before going live. Turn off notifications on your phone and computer.
Camera
Place the camera at eye level and check what is visible in the background. Remove anything that could identify where you live, such as letters, photos or a view from the window.
Your first ten minutes
Greet people as they arrive, tell them your name and when you usually broadcast. You do not need many viewers on your first day. Consistency matters more than a perfect start.
Afterwards
Write down what went well and what you would change. Set your next broadcast time and add it to your profile.
